Duyan Bags Graphic Lightweight Mesh Summer Tote

Since spring (i.e. warmer weather) has been on my mind lately, I have already been thinking about beach totes. So it only seemed right that this lovely tote from Duyan Bags was right there to grab my attention.

When I look at this tote, I can definitely picture myself carrying it. From a distance, it might not be immediately apparent, but this tote is actually made of light weight mesh. What fascinates me is the pattern on this tote. It reminds me of the patterns you see on lunch totes. Weird, huh? Even more intriguing is the fact that this pattern is embroidered onto the mesh fabric. Realizing that adds a whole new dimension to this piece. It has a look and feel similar to needlepoint crafts. That sounds almost like it would be a bad thing, but I really like it! This fun and energizing tote would be perfect for a trip to the beach, but it could also double as a shopping tote for the farmers market. Plus the leather straps help give this tote a little extra durability, meaning you really could take it just about anywhere.
Today when I saw the KARA Tie Tote Bag, I thought it was part of the new Kara Ross handbag collection / line. However, it turns out KARA has absolutely nothing to do with Kara Ross. In fact, it’s a completely different designer. Launched in 2012, KARA burst onto the scene with Parsons alum Sarah Law.
I must admit, the KARA Tie Everyday Classic Tote is a very lovely piece. The simplicity of it really calls to me. I love the smooth calfskin leather, clean lines, and minimalist details like the tie closure. You might also notice that this tote is unlined with simple pockets on either side, making it perfect for everyday things… even trips to the farmers market. I also love the neutral colors. The nude really catches my eye, but the black version is nice too. Either one would make a great staple to any wardrobe. In fact, this tote would pair nicely with anything from business attire to jeans and a t-shirt.

According to her biography, the name KARA comes from the Japanese word for karaoke. Who doesn’t love karaoke, right?. In the beginning, Sarah Law started out designing scarves and bags for GAP. Which is interesting fact, when I look at this bag I can see it on GAP shelves!
